Really nice.

Not the flashy Sea life you have all around the world. But really great, you can even get hands on experience. And you get really close to the fish. A sting ray might swim right over you.

Quite good actually

Quite good actually. Worth the time and money. If you’ve seen the one in Dubai, then probably might leave you a bit disappointed but otherwise, quite cool to visit with your family. You see surprisingly big sharks with a lot of other aquatic species that are lovely. Overall recommend!

What you can expect

SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium in Auckland offers a unique Southern Oceans experience in New Zealand. The walk-through Antarctic Ice Adventure is home to the world’s largest sub-Antarctic penguin colony display and allows visitors to get closer than ever before to these magnificent sub-Antarctic creatures.

You can also see displays of various artefacts that Kelly Tarlton the marine archeologist, found while exploring different shipwrecks around the world. SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium boasts unique attractions including world’s only display of Spiny Sea Dragons and the world’s biggest species of stingray. The Rockpool Experience allows visitors to touch different types of starfish and, with the animal-themed quiz trail this truly is an interactive day out.

While parking can be an issue

While parking can be an issue, (we went early Sunday afternoon) the staff were attentive and helpful from ticketting to exit. The experience was spectacular, fun, educational, we thoroughly enjoyed our time including the staff talks which were knowledgeable, feeding time was great to watch and my wife and I highly recommend the experience - but make sure you allow at least two to three hours.
