What you can expect

Take your Milford Sound adventure further on Rosco’s Stirling Sunriser Kayaking Tour. Designed for those wanting to explore beyond the inner fiord, this unforgettable experience combines a scenic water taxi ride with an incredible kayaking journey through some of Fiordland’s most dramatic landscapes.

Travel in a small group of just seven people as you cruise out towards the spectacular Stirling Falls, one of Milford Sound’s tallest waterfalls at 151 metres high. Once on your kayak, paddle across calm waters surrounded by towering cliffs, rainforest-covered mountains and cascading waterfalls. For the adventurous, there’s even the chance to paddle close enough to feel the spray beneath Stirling Falls itself.

With around five hours of paddling and no previous kayaking experience required, this summer-only tour is a fantastic way to experience the scale, beauty and peacefulness of Milford Sound away from the crowds.

Additional Information
  • Minimum age is 16 years old
  • We provide all specialist paddling attire designed to keep you warm & dry. Polypro undergarments & fleece, neoprene spray decks & gloves, paddle jackets, buoyancy aides & dry bags.
  • Bring: a camera with a fresh set of batteries & plenty of film/memory (we supply a dry bag for it), lunch & snack food, sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, insect repellent, shorts, soft shoes, warm fleece or wool hat, a spare pair of warm socks, rain jacket, towel, a change of clothes & finally a bag to keep everything in
