Your day of backcountry skiing begins with boarding a ski plane at Aoraki Mt Cook Airport. Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters by INFLITE are the only ski plane operators in New Zealand, making this Ski the Tasman experience even more special. Soar over spectacular Mt Cook scenery before glimpsing the Tasman Glacier from above, your playground for the day.
Ski the Tasman includes 2 runs from different landing points, each offering moderate ski terrain and an easy-going pace. With routes personalised to suit your group’s ability, take the chance to explore the Tasman’s beautiful ice caves and features with your experienced ski guide. - Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
- Lunch & ski gear available at additional cost
- Third runs available on the day depending on weather conditions
- Ski planes have a capacity of 7 people at a time
- Moderate ski terrain similar to blue runs at the ski field, suitable for families and introduction to backcountry
- Moderate fitness required
- Advanced bookings are essential
