What you can expect

Journey to Middle Earth with this full-day Lord of the Rings tour! Led by fun and passionate tour guides, you’ll explore original film locations while hearing fascinating tales from behind the scenes. You’ll start off with the morning tour where you’ll visit Arrowtown and Skippers Cayon Lookout, two unmissable spots when visiting Queenstown. Next, start your journey into Middle Earth as you uncover Lord of the Rings Locations such as the Ford of Bruinen, the Gladden Fields and the Pillars of the Kings!

After a relaxing hour-long lunch break in Queenstown, you’ll board a different bus and discover the settlement of Glenorchy, located on the northern end of Lake Wakatipu. Here, you’ll see the incredible set locations for Itihilien, Isengard and Beorn’s House as well as Lothlorien, Amon Hen and more! This is the ultimate day out for the true Lord of The Rings fanatic!

  • Unfortunately, this tour does not cater for people in wheelchairs, as our buses do not have a specialised lift.
  • There is some walking involved in this tour on dirt tracks and the like, so please wear suitable shoes.
