Welcome to Kiwi Park, Queenstown's central wildlife sanctuary and home to the iconic Kiwi bird. Nestled in the heart of New Zealand's adventure capital, this Queenstown wildlife park is a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird lovers alike.
Kiwi Park is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of New Zealand's unique birdlife. And as the only wildlife sanctuary in Queenstown, this is a truly immersive experience where you can get up close and personal with these fascinating creatures.
As you step into the park, you will be transported into a world of native flora and fauna. Explore the lush native forest trails (with the help of a map provided on entry), where you can spot a variety of native wildlife. You can join one of the daily conservations shows at Kiwi Park, which is an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of New Zealand’s most fascinating, endangered wildlife.
Within the park, you will discover a specially designed nocturnal Kiwi House - this is where the Kiwi live! There are special Kiwi Encounters run throughout the day by the professional wildlife team, so come on in and enjoy this rare opportunity to see a Kiwi. Remember that these birds are nocturnal, so while it's daytime out in the rest of the park, the Kiwi House will be dark as if it's nighttime - this is so that you can have the best possible viewing experience!
In addition to the Kiwi bird, the Kiwi Park is also home to a diverse range of other native New Zealand wildlife. From the cheeky Kea (the world's only alpine parrot) to the adorable Tuatara (a living dinosaur), there is something for everyone to marvel at.

- Meet at Kiwi Park on Upper Brecon Street, Queenstown (just below the Skyline Gondola terminal)
- Operates daily all year
- Are there indoor areas (protected from the rain) or is it all outdoor? The Kiwi Wildlife park has indoor and outdoor sections, so you can still have a great day even though it might rain outside.
- Child rates apply (6-15yrs)
- Infants 0-5yrs travel free of charge
- All children 15yrs & under must be accompanied by an adult
- Family rates available for 2 adults & up to 3 children
- Kiwi Encounters are available daily in the Kiwi House at 10am, 11am, 12.15pm, 1pm, 2.15pm, 3pm, 4.15pm & 5pm (Oct-April) and 10am, 12.15pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3.45pm & 4.30pm (May-Sep)
- Conservation Shows are available daily at 11.30am, 1.30pm & 3.30pm (Oct-Apr) and 11.30am & 3pm (May-Sep)
- Filming & photography is not permitted inside the Kiwi House
- Public on-street parking is available nearby the park
- Last admission is half an hour before closing time (please note some animal exhibits may close up to 30 minutes before closing time)
- Tickets are non-refundable
