What you can expect
Experience the excitement of jet boating on a 30 minute high speed Thunder Jet ride departing from Queenstown Bay. This Queenstown jet boat ride takes you across the stunning Lake Wakatipu, set against a majestic backdrop of mountain peaks, and soon picks up speed and performs the famous 360 degree spins. Tighten your grip on the handrail as the jet boat zigzags this way and that, reaching speeds of up to 90 kilometres per hour in waters only a few centimetres in depth.
On your Queenstown jet boat ride with Thunder Jet, race past imposing cliffs situated on the water’s edge and unspoilt scenery that wonderfully represents the rugged natural beauty of New Zealand. On your way back to Queenstown, soak in the jaw-dropping sight of the jagged Remarkables mountain range and Cecil Peak, as well as the lovely Kelvin Peninsula while experiencing the thrill of 360 degrees Hamilton spins.

Safety is of the utmost importance, and all jet boat drivers are not only friendly, knowledgeable and great fun but are also highly professional and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all passengers stay safe. All jet boats are meticulously maintained to the highest possible level of commercial operating standards. All passengers with existing health and physical conditions must inform a member of the crew before participating in this adventure.

- Operates daily all year
- Child rates apply (5-14yrs)
- Minimum age is 2 years old (children 2-4yrs travel for free)
- Family rates available
- Wear a warm jacket or fleece, casual footwear, sunglasses & sunscreen
- Spray jackets, hats & gloves are provided during the winter
