The cruise was absolutely amazing

What you can expect

The grand old TSS Earnslaw, affectionately nicknamed the ‘Lady of the Lake’, has been cruising Lake Wakatipu since 1912. Taking a cruise on the TSS Earnslaw lets you enjoy breathtaking scenery from the decks of a vintage steamship.

Soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, watch the stokers adding fuel to the fireboxes & listen to the puffing steam engines. Explore the bridge and decks, visit the engine room & discover the ship’s history in the Gallery.

This cruise includes a stop at Walter Peak High Country Farm, where you will experience an iconic farming tour – relax & get to know the farm animals with this interactive guided tour. Watch working sheepdogs round up sheep & see a sheep shearing demonstration. You will have plenty of time cruising around the farm, visiting the animal, feeding the sheep and deer & don’t forget to stop in to visit the Scottish Highland Cow! After you’ve spent time wandering through the farmland, visit the lakeside garden and for some morning or afternoon tea.

I booked this last minute at around 10pm for the next day at 1pm. Everything NZ processed my booking first thing the next morning and confirmed all was in order for our booking. The team is really helpful and immediately responsive on live chat via their website. Super happy and impressed with their service.

Nice trip across the lake to the Farmhouse, good views all round. What makes it better the Steamship Earnslaw.

A trip on the Lake on the Earnslaw is a MUST for all visitors to Queenstown. To experience such an old steamship on a beautiful Lake is 'something else'. We did not include the optional Farm visit and from the comments of some who did we are glad we didn't stop there. They said the stopover was "far too long for what is on offer there".
