What you can expect
Explore the world famous Whakarewarewa Forest, also known as the Redwoods, with a full day e-bike hire from Electric Bike Rotorua. This purpose-built mountain biking destination offers nearly 200km of trails, with options for a range of riding abilities.
Collect your full-suspension e-bike and helmet, then head into the forest for a day of adventure at your own pace. For easier access to higher trails, you can use the in-forest shuttle bus at an additional cost. Whether you’re keen for a cruisy ride or a more technical challenge, the Redwoods is one of Rotorua’s best places to ride.

- Helmet, gloves & lock (optional)
- Self-guided mountain biking at Redwoods Forest
- Full day hire
- Full day hire from 9am - 5pm
- Departs from 13 Tryon Street Rotorua, next to Whakarewarewa The Living Maori Village in Rotorua
- Operates daily all year
- All bikes must be returned by 5pm
- Full suspension e-bikes are suitable for all levels, including technical trails (full suspension Whyte model)
- Whakarewarewa Forest is suitable for all bike riders
- Minimum height 145cm due to the size of the bikes
- Riders under 18yrs must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
- You must be able to ride a bike comfortably
- Please wear closed in footwear, shorts & a couple of layers on your top half
- Please bring your Photo ID and a valid credit or debit card, riders must be able to present a valid form of legal identification
- Bring water & snacks to carry with you while riding
