The amazing Monster 4X4 is driven by a professional driver – and trust us – you will be glad that they are such terrific drivers as this baby is certainly harder to drive than it looks! The unique 4 wheel steering mechanism allows the Monster to easily tackle the tough New Zealand native bush terrain and the unbelievable trails. You will be white-knuckled as you are taken up over near-vertical slopes, tackle the ‘Widow Maker’ and the ‘Loggers Long Drop’. Definitely one for the thrill seekers.

- Approx 15 minutes
- Depart every hour from 9am to 5pm
- Meet at Off Road NZ which is located 20 minutes north of Rotorua, off State Highway 5, heading towards Hamilton / Auckland
- Operates all year (rain, hail or shine!)
- Off Road NZ provides all wet whether & safety equipment. All you need to bring is sun protection for the summer, your camera to catch the action, a big sense of adventure & a ‘can do’ attitude
- Yyou must be over 1.2 meters tall to take on The Monster
- Can I drive the Monster 4X4? No, our guides are specifically trained to drive the Monster 4X4. It's not as easy as they make it look!
- Will I get dirty at Off Road NZ? Off Road NZ provides all wet weather protection to keep you clean
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
