What you can expect
Experience Lake Taupo in the most fun way possible, cruising in your own brightly coloured Doughboat. These round, electric boats are self-driven and easy to handle, so you can grab a friend or bring the whole family. Each 1.5 hour session gives you time to drift along the shoreline, play your favourite tunes over the bluetooth speaker and relax with a picnic right on the water. The quiet, eco-friendly motor means you can chat, laugh and enjoy the lake without engine noise.
On colder days, heated setups keep everyone toasty while you float with views of Taupos volcanic peaks and lakeside houses. Doughboats are set up for groups of up to six, making them ideal for birthdays, pre-dinner outings or a casual catch up with kids and grandparents.
For an extra unique twist, book an evening Doughboat and watch the lake light up. Multicoloured LEDs glow across the water as the sky darkens and Taupos lights reflect around you. Bring a chilly bin packed with snacks and drinks, choose your captain and enjoy one of Taupos most playful lake activities, all at your own pace.
