What you need to know
- Tandem skydive from 12,000ft
- Return transfers from Wanaka i-SITE (if required)
- All your equipment including tandem skydiving jumpsuit, helmet, goggles & gloves
- Allow 2-3 hours once you arrive at the drop zone
- Regular departures between 6:30am and 1:15pm, 7 days a week
- Self drive to the dropzone at Wanaka Airport or complimentary pick up from Wanaka i-SITE
- Operates daily all year (weather depending)
- __How long does a tandem skydive in Wanaka take including training?__ A tandem skydive in Wanaka typically takes around 2–3 hours in total, including check-in, safety briefing, gearing up, and the skydive itself. __What are the age, height, and weight requirements for a Wanaka skydive?__ The minimum age for a Wanaka skydive is 6 years old. Participants must weigh at least 30kg and be at least 1.2 metres tall to safely fit the harness. Anyone over 95kg may be subject to an assessment on the day, with a maximum weight limit of 115kg. __Can a child under 30kg do a tandem skydive in Wanaka?__ No, all participants must meet the minimum weight requirement of 30kg to safely complete a tandem skydive in Wanaka. __Do I need a passport to skydive in Wanaka?__ No, a passport is not required. __What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my Wanaka skydive?__ If your Wanaka skydive is cancelled due to weather, you can reschedule to another available day or receive a full refund. __When is the best time to do a tandem skydive in Wanaka?__ The best time to do a tandem skydive in Wanaka is usually in the morning when wind conditions are calmer. It is also recommended to book early in your trip in case you need to reschedule. __Can I pre-book photos or videos for my Wanaka skydive?__ Photos and videos for your Wanaka skydive cannot be pre-booked. You can choose and add these on the day when you check in. __Can friends or family watch my Wanaka skydive?__ Yes, spectators are welcome at the Wanaka skydive dropzone and can watch your jump from designated viewing areas. __Can I buy a gift voucher for a Wanaka skydive?__ Yes, you can purchase an open-dated gift voucher for a Wanaka skydive. Simply select the gift voucher option when booking online.
- Maximum weight is 115kg (253lbs). All persons over 95kg are subject to Tandem Master assessment at the drop zone
- Minimum age of 6 years. Passengers under 18 years require written parental/guardian consent
- The minimum weight is 30kgs/66lbs and minimum height is 1.2metres/47.2inches. All passengers must fit securely into the harness.
- Children 12 years and under will be permitted to skydive from a maximum height of 9,000ft. All children are subject to an assessment on the day by the Tandem Master
- Video & photo packages available for purchase at the drop zone on the day
- Please wear closed shoes. Jandals/flip flops or bare feet are not permitted
- Weather dependent
- You will be provided with tandem skydiving jumpsuit, helmet, goggles & gloves
- Wear warm clothing if jumping in winter
- Glasses or contact lenses are ok to wear
