What you can expect

Experience a four-hour kayaking experience from Auckland’s scenic St Heliers Beach to the uninhabited Browns Island (Motukorea). After a 30-minute safety briefing and gear setup, you’ll set off with your professional guide across the calm turquoise waters of the Waitemata Harbour. Glide past the golden sands of Gentleman’s and Ladies Bays, keeping an eye out for wildlife, including birds, dolphins, whales, or little blue penguins, as you make your way toward the island.

On arrival, spend an hour exploring this dormant volcanic cone, formed around 25,000 years ago. Wander grassy slopes, uncover fascinating geological features, and soak up panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf. With its pristine environment and rich history, Browns Island is a haven for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and photographers. The return paddle offers even more opportunities to enjoy the harbour scenery, rounding out a perfect day of exploration.
