What you can expect
The perfect mix of adrenaline and sightseeing – this full day EcoZip and Wine Tour showcases the best aspects of Waiheke Island.
Catch the 8:00am ferry from downtown Auckland to Matiatia Wharf on Waiheke Island and meet your transfer for the 20 minute journey to the EcoZip base. Enroute you will be introduced to the quaint sights and sounds of the place the Lonely Planet guide describes as ’93 square km of island bliss’, Waiheke Island. This journey includes views of Waiheke Island's golden beaches, charming olive groves, world-class vineyards and multi-million dollar properties, with commentary from your knowledgeable guide.
Once you arrive at EcoZip Adventures, you will get to experience a unique take on Waiheke Island via a series of ziplines and a guided walk amongst the forest. With three unique, 200m ziplines in total (all tandem so you can race your friends), all have increasing gradients and a variety of perspectives across the stunning Waiheke Island views.
The second half of your day is designed for you to sit back and relax, as your informative and local Enjoi Wine Tours guide will tour you around Waiheke Island's best wineries. Your Enjoi Wine Tours guide can take you to a stunning vineyard or a local beachside café for lunch at your leisure, before departing off to tastings at two or three of the vineyards. While you are taking in the sights, your Enjoi Wine Tours guide will fill you in on the history of Waiheke Island and wine specialities. Enjoy complimentary wine tastings and learn the background on why Waiheke Island is famous for Syrah and Bordeaux-style blends, as well as brilliant aromatic whites.

- Departing 8.35am from Matiatia ferry terminal and returning 5.00pm
- Catch the Fullers ferry from downtown Auckland at 8am (additional cost) or pick up at 8am from your Waiheke accommodation
- Returns to Matiatia ferry terminal at approx 5pm
- Operates daily all year
- Catch the 8.00am Fullers ferry from downtown Auckland arriving at Waiheke Island at 8.35am, ferry NOT included in price
- The wine tasting segment of the tour will include 3 to 4 vineyards and, if time, a quick lunch at an award-winning vineyard or beachside cafe (cost of tastings are included, however lunch and additional drinks are at own expense)
- Pick up from your accommodation on Waiheke Island can be arranged at no extra cost, please advise accommodation address upon booking
- To participate in the EcoZip experience you need to weigh at least 30kg (66lbs) but not more than 125kg (275lbs)
- Please dress appropriately – the zipline will go ahead rain or shine, so we recommend you bring a jacket or coat
- If you haven’t brought your own wet weather gear then EcoZip are able to supply some
- The Nature walk track is 1.4km in length, so wear footwear suitable for a walk of that distance
- In the winter months, especially after periods of rain, the track may be muddy, so don't wear those brand-new, ultra-white numbers!
