What you can expect

Experience the world's most extreme and largest catapult with the Nevis Catapult. You will be propelled 150 metres across the Nevis Valley with 3Gs of force as you reach speeds of up to 100 kmph in just 1.5 seconds! As you drop and bounce you will feel your blood pumping and will be begging for another go. There's a reason why the AJ Hackett crew have nicknamed it "The Thriller".

What you need to know

  • Return transfers from central Queenstown by 4 wheel drive bus
  • Catapult jump
  • Photo and video package included
  • Allow 4 hours return trip from Queenstown
  • Regular departures from 8:40am - 2:40pm
  • Departs from inside the Station building located on the corner of Shotover and Camp streets, central Queenstown
  • Operates daily all year
  • __Can you take your own gopro on the Nevis catapult?__ Yes, Go pro cameras can be used on the Nevis Catapult, however these must be secured safely with a wrist or chest strap
  • You must wear closed in footwear (ie runners). No sandals or flip flops

  • Dress warmly, the site is sometimes sheltered from the sun and it can get cold
  • Minimum age is 13 years with a minimum weight of 45kg and max 127kg
  • Children under 16 years must have written consent signed from a parent or guardian
  • Spectators can go out to the Nevis for a fee of $50. Maximum of 3 spectators per departure time. Children under 10 year old can spectate for free
