What you can expect

Head out on a full day Queenstown combo that pairs four ziplines above Bob’s Peak with three cellar doors in the Gibbston wine region. The morning runs through the forest canopy on the hill above town, with Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables mountain range, and the forest dropping away below you between runs.

Back at ground level there is time to find lunch in town before your afternoon guide collects you from Camp Street. The wine half takes in three Gibbston vineyards, including a guided walk into the underground wine cave at Gibbston Valley, the largest in the country, and a shared cheese platter served alongside one of the tastings. Your guide traces how this strip of Central Otago grew from a couple of rows of vines into serious Pinot Noir country. Dress in layers even in summer, because the hill in the morning and the valley by mid afternoon are two different days. You finish with a drop off at your Queenstown accommodation.
