What you can expect

Wildwire Wanaka is the only waterfall via ferrata in New Zealand! Situated at the Twin Falls near Treble Cone Ski field and on the road to Mt Aspiring National Park, the scenery in itself is simply breathtaking. The Twin Falls, as the name suggests, is a unique double waterfall that cascades through a number of pools and free hanging waterfall sections.

The level 3 climb is the most extreme Lord of the Rungs option, taking you to the top of the Highest Waterfall Cable Climb in the World! Perfect for thrillseekers, the climb includes 7 suspension bridges (including a 2 wire bridge) and an exciting 450 metre vertical climb. You will even climb behind a 60 metre waterfalls and through an overhang, which is a truly unique experience. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a helicopter ride off the top!

Good fitness & body strength required - must be able to scramble up & down on hilly terrain for 5-7 hours. No previous experience is necessary and all the relevant training and guidance will be provided on the day by your experienced guides.

Additional Information
  • Bring sunglasses, hat, sun block, sturdy close-toed walking shoes, comfortable activewear suitable for weather on the day. Optional is a camera & snacks
  • Minimum age is 16 years
  • Minimum weight is 40kgs, maximum weight is 100kgs
  • If you are under 16, you must climb with an adult guardian & have them sign a waiver for you
  • There are no upper age limits to this activity
  • Participants need to be comfortable moving at heights & be physically able to climb a ladder
