Experience the mighty power of the Waikato River at Taupo’s most visited natural attraction, Huka Falls. Pumping a whopping 220,000 litres per second, Huka Falls is an impressive sight made even more so by getting right up to its thundering base while on the Huka Jet experience! Feel the thrust as a massive 520 horse powered twin jet engine takes you down the winding Waikato River, whizzing by the skin of your teeth, past cliffs and under low-hanging native bush!

This 30 minute Taupo jet boating adventure combines thrilling 360 degree spins, slides and fishtails at breakneck speeds of up to 80km per hour. Experience the scenic Waikato River and enjoy the entertaining commentary by your expert driver who will take you on a jet boat thrill ride like no other!

Summer Season (October - April)

8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m (hours extending to 5:30pm over peak months December/January)

Winter Season (May - September)

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Trips depart around every 30 minutes subject to availability. Located just 10 minutes from Taupo in the Wairakei Tourist Park, and right off the main highways from Auckland and Rotorua

If you have booked a hotel

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation tour voucher with complete tour operator details. You will be required to contact the tour operator a minimum of 48hrs prior to your day of travel to reconfirm your hotel pick up time

What To Bring

Still cameras in cases are welcome on board but at your own risk. Video cameras are not permitted
Coming in Summer? It is recommended to bring sunglasses and sunblock
Coming in Winter? Remember to bring a hat, gloves, jacket and warm clothing. Handrails are heated for your comfort

Bags are not permitted on the boat for safety reasons
Hukafalls Jet operates 364 days of the year (excludes Christmas Day), weather permitting
Hukafalls Jet will provide life jackets. These are mandatory
Children must be one metre tall in order to ride Hukafalls Jet

“ The jet boat ride was worth a wait and we all had loads of fun. The jet boat operator was great and he took us very close to the falls and gave us time for great views and pictures. This is a must do activity for all. The pictures taken by the team was also amazing. The only thing that was missing is the videos from the ride was not streaming due to some technical issues, it will be great to get this if and when available.

The hula falls jet boat ride was awesome and must do activity.

The Huka Falls Jet was great fun

The Huka Falls Jet was great fun! Loved the 360 spins and getting up close to the Huka Falls! The staff were friendly and the boat driver gave us some great information about the local attractions during our ride. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to other people.

This was a really fast and exciting way to view the falls

This was a really fast and exciting way to view the falls. The first part of the ride is down river to get yourself ready for the experience and entails a bit of history and information on the area. You then zip up the the falls, doing 360° turns while you go. Super fun jet ride - I've done these rides before and this location is perfect for it! $100 each (approx) was a great deal we thought ! Would recommend :)

The falls where the jet boat goes up to is out of this world!!

The falls where the jet boat goes up to is out of this world!!! The falls are massive with raging water and the jetboat gets really close to the falls. The scenery of the trip is amazing as is the trip itself. Really really fun!
